Visited around 8am during the week and though a few other customers, we were served almost instantly and luckily hadn’t had to queue. The display of pies especially, though also cakes and other goodies, is extensive. If I were a pie eater (at 8am?!🤣) then I would’ve opted for one as they had great appeal. I have also heard they do a prawn & snapper fish pie here which is the nuts so perhaps I’ll pop back in another time to grab one of those.
I wanted to pop in here for a while as my partner had been going on about it and I was not disappointed. A really beautiful bakery offering delectable treats of all kinds. I tried the Ham & Cheese Croissant and partner had a brekkie wrap with bacon eggs and salad (both heated up). The croissant was golden, plump and crunchy in all the right ways. The cheese that resided inside was rich and creamy, accompanying the thick cuts of butchers ham perfectly. Delicious to say the least. Coffee was also on point. Partner finished his wrap in all of about 3 seconds so I wasn’t able to photograph it but given he ate it the way he did, I’d say it was also very nice.
Parking is scarce with maybe 2/3 spaces right out front so that may be an issue but it’s a bakery, you likely won’t be waiting long for a spot or have any problems parking briefly alongside the petrol station. 🥐
Best bread and pies in Noosa currently. Store layout is awful. Parking\access is a nightmare. I'm sure they got a good deal on the rent from the service station but they really need to move. Good selection of tasty takeaway food.
The best pies in the area, if not the country!
Located in the Shell petrol station.
Super busy with a queue at 12 noon - well before lunchtime- it’s definitely a sign of a good thing.
Steak Cheese Bacon pie was just sensational.
Lamb & Rosemary - excellent.
Pork & fennel sausage roll- sensational!
They also do a large selection of freshly baked breads and rolls, and all kinds of delicious sweet treats like cakes, pastries, slices etc. All looks amazing.
Highly recommended!
I do love a holiday pie, and I was spoilt for choice at Rick's. So many options. Decided on the chunky steak and caramelized onions - some serious chunks of meat and a good flakey pastry lid. The small Portugese tart, coffee and the prosciutto and rocket salad I also had were on point too. Would loved to have tried the fruit loaf but they had already sold out.
This is not a location you are likely to just wander past ( Google's algorithm must have auto suggested it to me), however it looks to have a very strong local (or returning travellers) following. Limited parking spaces out front has already been mentioned by others and it is standing only at the one outside table, so not really a place to hang for a long lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. When next in the area I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
Fantastic customer service. Great coffee. I got an iced mocha ✨✨✨✨✨ very happy with it. Aside from the inconvenience of the location (hot tip: park in the street behind and you can walk up into Rick's apparently instead of parking at the servo), this is an incredibly tasty spot to find! Bit of a hidden gem in some ways, I found the food absolutely delicious. We had the Angus mince pie, and chunky steak pie. No sauce needed (first time in my life!) they were made THAT well. Next on the list is the peppery ones (either Shiraz or creamy, both divine I have it on good report)!! We also grabbed a sweet potato and pumpkin Danish which was I thought a bit unique and really tasty. The mini jam ball donut called to my tastebuds and in a few bites I was wowed by the jam, heavenly. The real superstar from this bakery is their fruit bread and I adore this sliced up then frozen 2 slices at a time to enjoy later in the toaster. Best fruit bread ever. Just all round happiness in dough form. Thanks Rick's, we will be back!
Odd location but who cares! Great bread and pastries. Pies looked great as well.
Ricks is an unpretentious gem and everything I could want in a bakery…every time I’m in Noosa I get something from here. Located next to the fuel station and no seats for coffee (all part of its charm), if you’re looking for delicious food from friendly people then I would recommend.
I had the chicken pie. There was none in the warmer, so the staff member said she would heat one up for me. I asked how long and she said 1 min, I asked if microwave, she said no. So not sure what that was about, but I got a pie that was way too hot and tasteless. For $7, it was one of the most expensive pies, and also one of the most disappointing. It had chunks of chicken, but was bland. The cakes on the other hand are good. The small tarts are $3.50 which is very reasonable. The raspberry meringue was the best. As other reviews say the cakes need signs on them. Our creme brûlée tart was maybe mandarin or orange flavoured? Could be a rude shock if you were not expecting citrus.
